Senior Pastor

Reverend Jodi Smith

Rev. Jodi Smith was appointed to First United Methodist of Celina March 1, 2008. Prior to coming to Celina, she served as the Pastor of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church for three years, followed by an additional three years of service as an associate pastor at Wylie United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church of Rowlett.

Jodi entered the ministry after twenty years in the financial services field as a Certified Public Accountant. Jodi holds degrees in government and business from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

Jodi met her husband Steve at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve has been employed with Texas Instruments since college as a facilities engineer. After living in the Austin area for nearly twenty years, Steve and Jodi moved to McKinney, Texas in 1996, following a two-year overseas assignment in Southeast Asia.

Jodi and Steve have three grown children. The family enjoys traveling together, especially if water activities are involved. They have a special affinity for windsurfing and scuba diving. J. Steve enjoys running and training for marathons.

Bill grew up in small towns in Northeastern Oklahoma. He has been in ministry with youth and families for over 13 years. As a child he was raised in the United Methodist Church and was deeply shaped by its traditions and principles. He and his wife Branda have two children, Barrett and Gabby. They moved to Celina after he completed his Masters of Divinity work at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa. Some of his interests are martial arts and movies, both he has found add to discipleship in Jesus Christ.

Friendship Corner Ministries

Kristyne Evanoski - director

Kristyne is a certified elementary school teacher with extensive background in administration of licensed school and preschool programs. She lives in Frisco with her husband and three children. She will be expanding our current ministries to add a Mother's Day out program, summer camps, and after-school ministries in addition to our preschool program.
